  • We Can Build it Bigger

We decided to revisit the 2003 classic Alhambra today. Turns out it's still a fun game, even with just three players. Wintertide, Megabyte, and Grey square (triangle?) off to see who can make the best of what we have to work with. Who's gonna build the best city ever? You'll just to watch and see!

  • Playing a Roll

We checked out this game called Roll Player today and it was a heck of a lot of fun! Not a ton of player interaction but the elements that it tries to bring together are quite interesting. You play a character, straight out of a Dungeons & Dragons, trying to max your states, buy the best gear, and stay true to your alignment and backstory. Watch on to see how it goes!

  • Nite Shift Conquers Calus!

After some hard grinding over the course of the games first week, Nite Shift was ready to take on the Leviathan in the first raid released on Destiny 2.  Not only did Nite Shift take down Calus, the final boss of the four part raid, but they did so again to ensure other members were able to get their loot before the weekly reset. • Yahtzee, Codenames, Who's Counting?

Yup. We played Yahtzee. I know, very exciting. Now for the hype-man text: Watch as we play this classic, banging game where you roll dice and risk it all to get the highest score! Who will take home all the cheese, the moolah, the bread? You're just gonna have to watch and find out. Oh, and we played Codenames too.

Hello, friends.

This Thursday, we're gathering around the virtual table once again. What game will we play? That will depend on player count!

If we have 3-5 players, we'll play Bloodborne: The Card Game - a "press your luck" set collection game where players fight a common threat, but the biggest payout comes from dealing the fatal blow.

If we have 6-10 players, we'll play Salem - a bluffing and voting game of deduction. Find the witches before their influence spreads across the small Massachusetts town.

If we have more than 10 players, we'll play Two Rooms and a Boom - a team driven game of explosives. Team Blue has a President, Team Red has a Bomber, and you can only guess what happens if they end up in the same room together.

Please let us know if you're joining us in the comments. We'll decide the game based on player count by Tuesday evening. See you at the table!

Alright, Thursday's game will be Bloodborne: The Card Game.

Information
Game: Bloodborne: The Card Game
Max Players: 5
Time: 30 minutes
Rules

Synopsis of the Game
Bloodborne: The Card Game is based on the Chalice Dungeons in the video game Bloodborne — the ever-changing labyrinths and tombs carved out by the Great Ones beneath the fallen city of Yharnam, where horrifying creatures reside. Players compete to kill monsters and take their blood.

In general, Bloodborne is a game about risk management with a bit of group think, inventory management/upgrades, and tactical play. You start with a hand of basic weapons, which you get to upgrade to improve your fighting combos and capabilities.

Each turn, one monster chosen at random attacks players, who fight back as a team, with everyone playing a card from their hand simultaneously to attempt to kill the monster. Players collect blood from the monster, assuming it dies, based on how much damage they dealt. Monsters can fight back with exploding dice that can potentially deal infinite damage.

Players can fight as long as they want, but if they die in combat, they lose their progress. Players can opt out of fighting to bank their blood and save it permanently. Collected blood counts as victory points.

Says designer Eric M. Lang, "My goal with Bloodborne was to channel the intensity and frustration of the video game into a contest between players. Lots of death."
